- Copy the LCS.jar file into the NetWare 'SYS:\' directory and from
a NetWare console run the following command :
"java -jar sys:\LCS.jar install"
- This would launch the installer. Follow the instructions to complete
the installation.
- The LCS would be installed in the SYS:\AlaskaAssessmentsLCS directory.
Running the LCS :
- In the 'SYS:\AlaskaAssessmentsLCS' directory you will find the following
2 NCF files:
- LCS.NCF - Starts the Local Caching Server
- PREFERENCES.NCF - Used to configure the LCS settings
- To start the Local Caching Server by just typing 'LCS' at the NetWare
system console, copy the LCS.NCF file into the 'SYS:\System' directory.
- You can also edit your autoexec.ncf to automatically start the LCS
when your system boots up.

NOTE :
The LCS uses the 'server' mode of java to run the application. When you start the LCS from the System Console sometimes you might get the following error message :
"Cannot use the server JVM while the client JVM is running Java applications".
In such a case quit any java applications you may be running and type 'java -exit' in the System Console. Now type 'LCS' in the System Console to start the Local Caching Server.
