Uninstall LCS 2.0 and 2.0.1
- If you have already installed either 2.0 and 2.0.1 versions of the LCS in your system please uninstall the LCS.
- You can find the uninstaller within "C:\Program Files\Alaska Assessments LCS"
Installation
- Click on "Download LCS Now!"
located on the right side of your screen
to download the installer.
- Run the installer and follow the instructions. By default, the LCS software is installed in the
C:\Program Files\Alaska_LCS. The installer will also give you an option to install the LCS anywhere in your system.
Note: In Windows the LCS is by default installed as a Windows Service.
- The installation creates an LCS Manager icon on your desktop. Double-clicking this icon will start the LCS Manager, which will help you configure the various settings within the LCS.
Configuration
- The LCS Manager provides an easy-to-use interface to configure various options available with the LCS.
- LCS Port
- Proxy
- Secure Connection
- Start the LCS Manager by running the shortcut icon on your desktop or from the LCS installation folder. Configure the LCS settings by following the instructions provided within the LCS Manager.
Running the LCS
- The LCS Manager provides a "LCS Status" panel, which you can use to start and stop the LCS. Start the LCS Manager by running the shortcut icon on your desktop or from the LCS installation folder.
- The LCS is installed as a service by default and is configured to automatically start whenever your system is rebooted.
LCS Monitoring Tool
- The LCS provides a web-based monitoring tool
that helps you track the daily activity in the LCS.
You can use the monitoring tool to track:
- Number of
practice tests
taken
- Number of active testers between
7:00 AM and 7:00 PM
- Number of test parts finished in
the LCS and
saved in the
CAL Data Center
- Number of test parts finished in
the LCS and
pending to be saved in
the CAL Data Center

Troubleshoot the CAL Software and the LCS
- This section helps you troubleshoot whether
the CAL software and the LCS are
properly configured to administer tests.
- To check whether the LCS is able to
connect to the CAL Data Center,
run the troubleshoot in the LCS Manager. The results of the tests will show whether
the LCS is connecting to the CAL Data Center.
- If the results show that the LCS is
not able to connect to the CAL Data Center,
click on the Log File tab in the LCS Preferences,
click the "Copy Log File Contents" button,
paste the contents into a text file,
and email it to
AKProject@datarecognitioncorp.com.
We will review the file and recommend a solution.
- To check whether the CAL software is
able to connect to the LCS,
open the CAL Preferences program and
run the tests on the Troubleshoot tab.
If the CAL software is configured properly to use the LCS,
the results will show that the CAL software is
able to connect to the LCS.
- If the results show that the CAL software is
not connecting to the LCS,
click on the Log File tab in the CAL Preferences program,
click the "Copy Log File Contents" button,
paste the contents into a text file,
and email it to
AKProject@datarecognitioncorp.com.
We will review the file and recommend a solution.
- To check whether the CAL software is
able to administer a
practice test
using the LCS,
open the LCS Monitoring Tool and
view the number of
practice tests
taken per subject.
Once you take a
practice test ,
the information displayed will update.
The LCS Monitoring Tool updates every 2 minutes,
so wait 2 minutes for the
practice test
counts to be updated.
